Race Information

 

Day one 18 May 2018: Chillagoe to Almaden

  • ALL teams must be in Chillagoe by 9.00am
  • Solo and Duo competitors depart 9.30am
  • Compulsory Pre-race briefing 10.00am
  • Teams depart at 11.00am
  • Live music at Railway Hotel by Exogen, talent show, licensed bar and food available

 

Day two 19 May 2018: Almaden to Dimbulah

  • Lunch at Petford
  • Dimby Dinner Do Saturday night: Charity announcements, day’s highlights on the bigscreen, tug of war, jumping castle, music by DJ Nipper Brown buffet meal (booking essential: secretary.diumbulah@cns.catholic.edu.au). 

 

Day three 20 May 2018:  Dimbulah to Mareeba

  • Teams depart from 6.00am
  • Finish at the Mareeba Rodeo Grounds
  • Food and drink available
  • Presentation of awards 1.00pm

 

Race Categories

Mens: All team members must be male. Race average speed for this category is 15km / hr.

Ladies: All team members must be female. Race average speed for this category is 12km / hr.

Mixed: Any combination of male and female team members- with a ratio of at least 6 males to 4 females. Race average speed for this category is 12km / hr.

Over 35yrs:  All must be over the age of 35 and can be any combination of gender. Race average speed for this category is 12.5 km / hr.

Over 55yrs: All members of the team must be over 55 and can be any combination. Race average speed for this category is 14.5 km / hr.

Solo Male: Individual male runner. Race average speed for this category is 8 km / hr.

Solo Female: Individual female runner. Race average speed for this category is 6.5 km / hr.

School Student: All members of the team must be attending the same  High School (turning 13/14 in 2016) and have parental permission. Race average speed for this category is 15.5 km / hr.

Corporate Service: Teams will be made up of at least six persons employed at one business and four extras making up the team who have an association with the business (relative). Race average speed for this category is 14.5 km / hr.

Duo: Two runners. Race average speed for this category is 10 km / hr.

Social: Can be any combination (mixed, ladies, men, etc) This category will not be in the running for the prize money and non-competitive; random draws for prizes; still a timed race.

Please note: A maximum of one race category is to be selected per entry.
